Kempeitai Office

During World War II, the military police of the Imperial Japanese Army, known as the Kempeitai, used the Old Changi Hospital to house and interrogate thousands of prisoners-of-war. Even now, the overbearing presence of the Kempeitai could still be felt here, especially inside what used to be their office. Etched eerily on the walls are lines of writing, perhaps transcribing the words that the Kempeitai used to recite back to Tokyo.
