Lift

As your team solved more of the puzzles and neared the end of your investigation, you seem to have gained the trust of the ghosts around you. The ghostly voices started to address you directly and affirmed what you had pieced together about this mystery from your findings at Old Changi Hospital - Ken was a World War II Imperial Japanese Kempeitai commandant who led the cruel interrogations right here, but the work was cut short when he fell ill to malaria and passed away in the hospital.

Decades later, his evil soul was reborn again at Old Changi Hospital, reincarnated in a new body. As fated, Ken's path brought him to Old Changi Hospital once more, whereupon he immediately regained the memories of his past life and sought to continue his unfinished purpose.

Using the cult rituals he discovered, Ken started using them to trap the wronged ghosts of the past that he encountered here, to torture them once again.

So where is Ken now? Your search leads you to the lift cabin standing empty on the second floor of this seven-storey building. The power appears to be out currently and the lift isn’t working. Fortunately, you search the adjacent rooms and find an old manual that could help you understand how it might once have worked.

System Manual for Lift

The manual also includes the circuit diagrams of the electronic components used in the floor display system, but the pages have fallen out and are not in the right sequence.

You also find a handwritten note amongst the manual pages:
Everything has been set up perfectly and should be working fine. But once in a while I notice a strange unexplainable malfunction where the floor sensor seems to think it is slightly lower than it really is. Perhaps this place is as haunted as they say?
